Eva Hodson, Hall of Fame Chair

Happy fall! My name is Eva Hodson, and I am honored that Chris VanBuskirk has asked me to take over as Hall of Fame Chair. Over the past few years, I’ve been on the board of the WSMTA Bellingham chapter as Vice President and am now serving as President. I am excited to volunteer at the state level for the first time.

The beginning of fall is an invigorating time of year for us as teachers. It’s a time to start fresh and look at ways we can enhance our studios. In September, it’s a great time to try new teaching techniques, start teaching new students, or even implement a new studio policy.

As someone who has been teaching for just 6 years, one of my favorite parts about being involved in WSMTA and my local chapter is learning from more experienced teachers. They inspire me to try new things in the fall. Is there a teacher you know who has committed time and effort to your chapter, been involved at the state level, and has shown dedication to the development of music and music education in their teaching?

If you would like to recognize a teacher who fits the above description, nominate them into the WSMTA Hall of Fame!

The committee asks for three letters of recommendation for this nominee, and should be submitted by a Chapter member, colleague, or friend. Please go to the Hall of Fame page on the WSMTA website to read all about the nomination criteria and submit an application.

The deadline for 2027 Hall of Fame nominee entries is December 10th, 2026.
